GSCS held its 5th Annual GSCS Holiday Art Contest, for high school students this year, sponsored by United Bank. First, second and third-place winners received cash prizes. The first-place winners' artwork is featured on the district's Christmas card. Special thanks to United Bank for sponsoring this year's contest! Congratulations to this year's winners:

Parents and Guardians,

Griffin High School will administer 1st semester final exams beginning Wednesday, December 17th. Please review the schedule below to ensure your scholar is prepared and arrives on time for each exam.

⏰ All exam days are half days (8:45 AM – 12:00 PM). Scholars will eat lunch and dismiss at 12:00 PM.

Exam Schedule:
* Wednesday, December 17 – 1st & 2nd Block Final Exams
* Thursday, December 18 – 3rd & 4th Block Final Exams
* Friday, December 19 – Make-Up Exams & Missing Work Completion

Please encourage your scholar to get plenty of rest and arrive prepared. Thank you for your continued support as we finish the semester strong!

All GSCS schools & offices will be closed Dec. 22, 2025 - Jan. 2, 2026, for holiday break. GSCS staff & students return on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

On Tuesday, Dec 2, six of our cadets served as pallbearers to the late Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Allan B. Imes, former Senior Army Instructor (SAI) for Griffin High School JROTC Department. The funeral service was conducted at the Griffin First United Methodist Church. Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Imes served as the Griffin High School JROTC SAI for seventeen years.
We are always proud of our cadets for their selfless service to our school and community. ❤️🤍💙

#GHS students used Makey Makey devices, coding skills, and #electrical #engineering knowledge to create WORKING video game controllers that they then were able to use to play their favorite computer games!

GSCS Department of Exceptional Students is hosting a Parent Expo on December 4 from 5-7 p.m. at the Griffin Region College & Career Academy.

If you missed the last one in October, Griffin-Spalding County Schools invites grandparents to attend a Town Hall Meeting for grandparents helping their GSCS student grandchildren.
This meeting, hosted by Board of Education Chairman R. Syntel Brown with district leaders, is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the parent resource center in the GSCS Central Office "B Building" (facing Taylor Street). The address is 234 E. Taylor Street, Griffin, Georgia 30224. Grandparents will receive updates and learn about helpful resources.
