Griffin High School invites our parents, guardians, and scholars to join us for Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Griffin High School.
Curriculum Night is an opportunity for families to connect with our teachers and learn more about their scholar’s courses, curriculum, academic expectations, and the supports and resources available at GHS. Families will have an opportunity to:

Griffin High School families, 4½-weeks progress reports went home today with all GHS scholars.
We encourage parents and guardians to take a few minutes to review their scholar’s grades and academic progress. This is an important opportunity to celebrate areas of success and identify any areas where additional support may be needed.
If you have questions or concerns about your scholar’s progress, please contact Griffin High School or schedule a Parent-Teacher Conference to speak with your scholar’s teacher(s).

If you’ve ever wondered what the DNA in your food looks like, here you go! 🧬🍓 Our ninth-grade Biology students successfully extracted DNA from strawberries during a fun, hands-on investigation. They were excited to observe the white, stringy DNA become visible right before their eyes!

Important Vaccination Reminder for GHS 11th-Grade Scholars
Griffin High School would like to remind all 11th-grade scholars and their families that scholars must have received their required updated vaccination before October 1, 2026.
Please make sure this immunization requirement is completed before the deadline. Failure to meet the requirement may result in withdrawal from school.
Parents or guardians who have questions, concerns, or need assistance should contact the GHS school nurse.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter and for helping us ensure that our scholars remain healthy, prepared, and ready for a successful school year.

U.S. History 📜⌛🏛️🏺 scholars took over the media center for a student-led review, working in teams to create standards-based stations and teach key concepts to their classmates. A great way to combine collaboration, movement, and meaningful review! 🐻🐻🐻

Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) is so very thankful for all of our Partners in Education. So many businesses and organizations help provide opportunities and experiences for our students and teachers. Our district partners that each contribute in excess of $10,000 in value to help students are Brightmoor, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, First National Bank, Georgia Banking Company, Marco's Pizza, Piedmont Fayette Hospital and United Bank. Thank you! Many others support the REACH and similar scholarships, individual schools, fine arts, athletics, and more. Some, like Norcom, provide school supplies. Some take part in the Partners in Education Fundraiser Golf Tournament (Sept 25 this year). Others serve as mentors and reading tutors for students. Community churches host events, volunteer at schools and pray for our students and staff. Thank you Griffin and Spalding for supporting our future through public education. We need you and we appreciate you!
Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Historic City Hall in Griffin, there will be an event for high school female students age 14 through 18. Girls in Public Works Day will allow students to explore career opportunities and possibly earn a college scholarship.
Ms. Manga's AP Psychology 𝚿👩🏻⚕️🩷🧠 classes explore their senses and how they are affected by emotions, exterior environment, and stressors.
GSCS is grateful for wonderful Partners in Education! One of our major district level partners, United Bank, made check presentation this week. Their donations help support the athletic programs at both high schools, the college and career academy, and they provide field trip scholarships and classroom grants to benefit students through the Griffin-Spalding Partners in Education foundation. Thank You United Bank!

All GSCS school principals received certificates this morning from The Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. for meeting all necessary standards to be Accredited with Quality for the 2026-27 school year. Congratulations!
