On Tuesday, Dec 2, six of our cadets served as pallbearers to the late Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Allan B. Imes, former Senior Army Instructor (SAI) for Griffin High School JROTC Department. The funeral service was conducted at the Griffin First United Methodist Church. Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Imes served as the Griffin High School JROTC SAI for seventeen years.
We are always proud of our cadets for their selfless service to our school and community. ❤️🤍💙

GSCS Schools Make Strong Strides in 2025 CCRPI Performance! The College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) is Georgia’s statewide accountability system used to measure how well schools and districts are preparing students for success at the next grade level, graduation and postsecondary opportunities. The 2025 CCRPI results were released on November 12, 2025. The data reveals that Griffin-Spalding County Schools (GSCS) improved in 12 of the 13 components. READ MORE: https://5il.co/3sfsw

GSCS Interim Superintendent Dr. Donald Warren said, “These gains reflect the hard work of our teachers, leaders, students and families. While we still have work to do, this momentum shows that GSCS is on the path toward sustained improvement and we will continue pushing forward together. These results show what is possible when everyone is aligned and working with purpose. I am incredibly proud of our staff and students, and I know this is only the beginning of what GSCS will achieve.”

Today, over 400 Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) Student Athletes attended the seasonal Beyond Self Athletes Assembly, an event dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders. Students heard an inspiring keynote address from U.S. Army Veteran and Olympic Gold Medalist Melvin Pender. Also, during the assembly, through a partnership with AT&T and Beyond Self, 50 new laptops were given out to deserving student-athletes from the fall sports season, providing critical technology access to families in the community.

Some student athletes who received a new laptop were nominated by their coach for demonstrating the three R’s: Respect yourself, Respect others and take Responsibility. Others received a laptop for completing the captain’s workshop and serving as Key People of Influence for the winter season. Then, a lucky few were chosen after answering questions correctly about the program and the keynote speaker.
