9th Grade Year Focus

Freshman year is your foundation year. We are not aiming for perfection, we are learning how to stand tall.

Freshman success tips

  • Show up! Half of success is consistency

  • Ask questions. Curiosity builds confidence.

  • Use your planner or phone reminders - future you will thank you.

  • Find one positive friend or adult you trust.

  • Celebrate small wins! They stack up.

Credits?

  • Credits are units of measure a student earns each time they pass a course

  • 1 credit is earned for each course passed (passing grade is 70 or higher)

  • **At the high school level, earning credits is the only way to get promoted to the next grade level**

  • Students can earn up to 8 credits per year

  • For promotion to 10th grade, a minimum of 7 credits is required

  • A total of 23 credits are required for graduation
