The Department of Transportation is dedicated to working closely with parents and students to ensure safe, efficient transportation to and from school. For questions regarding bus routes, schedules, or stops, parents are encouraged to contact their child’s school or the Transportation Department’s customer service team.
The school bus is an integral part of your student’s daily routine, and the bus driver serves as a critical link between home and school. At GSCS, our bus drivers are highly trained professionals committed to student safety. Each driver holds a Commercial Driver’s License and completes a rigorous training program that covers driving skills, student management, classroom instruction, CPR, and First Aid. Drivers also participate in ongoing professional development, including monthly in-service training, an annual safety workshop, and the Annual Driver Proficiency Test (ADPT).
With extensive training, professionalism, and a steadfast dedication to safety, our bus drivers take pride in ensuring students travel safely every day.
**CRITICAL UPDATE**
The GSCS Department of Transportation will send postcards this summer with details about student bus routes for the next school year. All current bus riders will be assigned a bus route for the next school year.
If families do not receive a postcard, see issues with their student's bus information on their postcard or have general school transportation questions, they should attend a Ready-to-Roll support day this summer.
GSCS Ready-to-Roll Support Days
Location: GRCCA (221 Spalding Dr., Griffin, GA 30223)
Dates: June 24, June 25 and June 26
Times: 9 a.m. to noon or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
*All students need to have a confirmed bus route by the end of the day on June 26. Those who do not, may not have a confirmed route assignment until August 11.
