While at the CDC, the students were treated to  the temporary exhibit in which the featured topic was on handwashing.  The students observed water colors, 1500 handcrafted porcelain soap bars, and handcrafted giant soap bars.  The students were able to take samples of unique paper towels produced by Georgia Pacific just for this exhibit.  During the tour, students learned the history of the CDC and how they were commissioned by the US government to work on different epidemics that occurred around the world.  Due to security and health issues, the students were not allowed to enter into any of the labs on the campus, but were shown a video that showed behind the scenes at the CDC.  A deeper and greater appreciation of the work done by the men and women around the world to protect and educate the population was achieved.
