Upward Bound Accepting Applications.

Community Teen Coalition is partnering with GHS to provide students the opportunity to participate in Upward Bound

The Community Teen Coalition is currently recruiting students for the Griffin High School Upward Bound/and Upward Bound STEM College Preparatory Program. Upward Bound is a part of the federally funded TRIO program that provides academic support and college enrichment to low-income and first-generation college bound students. To qualify students need to either meet TRIO low-income guidelines or be first-generation college, meaning neither parent has obtained a bachelor’s degree.  Additionally, to qualify, students must be in the 9th-11th grade, 2.4 GPA or above, U.S. citizen or legal resident, and attend Griffin High School. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

Students participate in both the academic year and summer components upon entry to the program until high school graduation.  All program services are free and students receive a small stipend for their participation.
