The PSAT will be administered  on October 25, 2017 at Griffin High School. The PSAT is a standardized test of verbal and mathematical abilities. It has two verbal sections totaling 58 sections and tow math sections with 50 questions. Testing time plus related activities is 3 hours. The PSAT, or Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test, is a preview of the SAT that is typically taken in the junior year of high school.  All first time Griffin High School 10th grade students will be administered this test at no cost. Any 11th or 9th grader who desires to take this test, will be assessed a $16 fee which covers the cost of the test, shipping and handling.

Additionally, 11th grade students should be aware that the PSAT is the qualifying test for the nationwide competition directed by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Being a National Merit Finalist or Semifinalist, or receiving a Letter of Commendation, is worth a great deal when a student applies to college. This test will give our students and staff an indication of their College and Career Readiness and garner points to the school’s CCRPI Indicator.
