GHS Pawbotics Competes in Qualifier

Pawbotics
The Griffin Bears Robotics team, Pawbotics, finished in FIRST PLACE at the Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology regional Qualifier, Saturday December 13th.

The team had some ups and downs to make it to the semi-finals matches. However, once the drivers figured out a winning strategy they executed it time and time again and worked well with all of their alliance partners. The team also managed to achieve the highest score for the tournament when they partnered with EagleManiacs, the team that they also partnered with to compete in the semi-final and final matches.

Due to the way the tournament and FIRST Tech Challenge rules are set up, the team did not qualify for the state tournament. There are complicated scoring methods as well as other awards that are valued higher than winning the tournament according to FIRST.  While our team was in the running for some of these awards, they were not the winners of them.  The team did learn many valuable lessons and has already started preparing and developing strategies for their next tournament this month.
