Riordan & Holmes Win at Regional YGA Writing Competition

The Georgia Council of Teachers of English (GCTE) has a yearly Young Georgia Authors (YGA) competition.  The “competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics.” (More information can be found here on the GCTE website).  We are proud of Rachel Riordan and Mary Holmes for representing GHS well and winning at the regional competition! Their writings will move onto state level, with the results being released in June.
