JROTC Instructors Receive Award

JROTC

We are proud to recognize Master Sergeant Derrick Jackson, Master Sergeant Jay Folds, and Sergeant First Class Ronald Polk for their immeasurable support to the cadets and students at Griffin High School and the Griffin/Spalding Community.  Because of their support the Cadets of the Bear Battalion have maintained Honor Unit with Distention scoring 96% or higher on the Cadet Federal Inspection for the past 17 years.  Their hard work did not go unnoticed and they were recently awarded the United States Army Cadet Command Gold Instructor Award by the Department of the Army.  As well as being a continuous strength within GHS, they extended their expertise to play a key role in helping Fayette County High establish the first Army JROTC program in Fayette County.
